National Energy Board's Designated Public Office Holders

The National Energy Board is aware of the implementation of the Lobbying Act (Act) and has reviewed the May 2010 Interpretation Bulletin with respect to "Comparable Rank" for Designated Public Office Holders and the October 2009 Interpretation Bulletin with respect to Acting Appointments in Designated Public Office Holder Positions. The Board wishes to cooperate with all stakeholders to uphold the spirit and intent of the lobbying regime. In that regard, and after careful consideration of the Act and the Interpretation Bulletins, the Board wishes to advise that the following positions within the Board are Designated Public Office Holders under the Lobbying Act:

  • Chair and Chief Executive Officer
  • Vice Chair (when acting for the Chair and Chief Executive Officer for longer than four consecutive months in a twelve month period)

The Board will advise when the Vice Chair has been acting for the Chair for longer than four consecutive months in a twelve month period, as set out in the Interpretation Bulletin.

Should you have any further questions regarding this matter please contact Louise George (louise.george@neb-one.gc.ca), Secretary of the Board at 403-299-3578.
